About this event

Jacqx Melilli, author, award-winning playwright, and writing mentor has heard so many incredible stories over the years and finds that many people procrastinate about documenting their story. These stories will be lost forever if they are not recorded. Imagine how valuable these life experiences will be for generations to come.

Jacqx has a Master of Arts degree in Writing and Literature from Deakin University. She has 11 publications including stage plays, short stories, educational books, and many published articles. Her novel, When The Glitter Fades, is an Australian historical thriller about vaudeville and circus performers touring Victoria during the Great Depression. Jacqx wanted to preserve Australian showbiz history by writing an engaging story loosely based on true events. She found that the mammoth task of researching for this project would have been much easier if people had recorded their life experiences. This prompted her to create and present the How to Write and Sell Your Memoir Even If You’re Not Famous workshop.

Jacqx is passionate about assisting people to document their memoirs after seeing how life-changing it has been for some of her clients, and how beneficial it is for writers and researchers. It’s a wonderful and valuable legacy to leave behind your life experiences either privately for your family to enjoy, or commercially for the benefit of others.

This workshop will cover the following topics:

Topic 1: The difference between a memoir and an autobiography.
