Through guided writing exercises, practical techniques, and thoughtful feedback, you’ll learn how to shape compelling narratives, create authentic characters, and write with emotional depth. The workshop also provides tools for overcoming common blocks such as self-doubt, perfectionism, and lack of structure or discipline.

Whether your goal is to write personal stories, fiction, or a memoir, this workshop will help you stop procrastinating and inspire you to write with purpose. Workshop Feedback given on 8 November 2025

‘A vibrant speaker and an engaging workshop. One of the best I’ve attended so far.’ H.J. Palmer

‘This workshop gave me the opportunity to meet and be around other writers. It’s shown me the importance of many different aspects of constructing a novel and given me many pointers as to what I can improve on and further my research on. I would recommend this workshop to writers with some level of experience who are wishing to learn more.’ Kaylee-Ann Berry

‘Loved it! Please come back!’ Lisa

‘I felt intrigued by the possibility that I might get new skills. I felt stuck in my past genre writing and wanted to try novel writing and this course has helped my confidence to give it a good hot crack!’ Fiona

‘I casually write an article for a magazine voluntarily, so the information was most useful.’ Ian

‘I wanted to learn how to structure my stories better–the clarity of the fundamentals of story writing. The whole experience was enjoyable and instructive. Yes, I’d recommend this workshop to others.’ Barry Stephenson

‘Invited by a friend. Enjoyed the sharing/talking/ideas. Biggest takeaway is that everyone has a story to write but maybe not the tools to write it.’ Debbie

‘Jacqx is passionate about the art and encouraging new and upcoming authors. No gatekeeping here! Jacqx really paints with words.’ Clare D

‘This was an enjoyable afternoon, sharing with like-minded individuals. Jacqx is delightful and skilled at what she’s teaching. I particularly gained insight in how to develop my elevator pitch and ensure my writing has an arc/turning point. I’m inspired to go on it more.’ Patty Fulloon

‘I found this workshop very informative even though I came into it only to get an understanding of the process an author goes to in producing a work. I found it incredibly helpful and if I was going to write something of my own, I now have a better understanding and will be more confident in my writing.’ Jordyn
